Bean’re: Motorcycle Nomad
Bean're is one of the last American Nomads. He makes his own rules and travels to and from on his own schedule. The to and from usually involves motorcycle events, like Sturgis and Daytona. His mode of travel is a very well worn Harley with over 200,000 miles on the odometer. With his long pony-tail and tall top hat, Bean’re looks like the original drug fiend. It turns out, however, that Bean’re is straight and sober, and has been for over 23 years. Bean’re – Motorcycle Nomad - is both a non-fiction story of a life-long adventure, and an inspirational tale. If anyone in this world is free, truly free, that someone is Bean’re. Free from the 40 hour grind. Free from the credit card bills and mortgage payments that dog the rest of us. Free from dependence on drugs and alcohol. Though it might seem that Bean’re has nothing, it turns out he has a wealth of the things that are truly important. Things like friends in all 50 states and all over the world. Those friends include the well known and obscure, and both have contributed to this book with testimonials and simple stories about Bean’re. With his status as a cult celebrity in the motorcycle world, Bean’re is often the subject of photos taken at various events. And it’s these photos that fill the center of this book. In addition to travel tales and testimonials, this new book includes tips on everything from breaking free of the daily grind, to learning how to live without chemicals. There’s a chapter on Bean’re’s motorcycle travel tips: How to pack light, pass up the motels, keep an old bike on the road, and deal with the inevitable hassle of storms and breakdowns. For those who already count Bean’re as a friend, this new book will bring a smile to their face. Those who don’t know Bean’re will feel like they do after reading the narrative account of one man who gave it all up and gained a great deal along the way.

Big British Bikes of the 50s and 60s: Thunder on the Rocker Road
In the 1950s and '60s the British motorcycle industry was at its postwar peak, with its large-capacity high-performance bikes in strong demand all over the world. AJS/Matchless, BSA, Norton, Royal Enfield and Triumph were all making 100mph-plus big twins, with the king of them all, at least into the 1950s, being the mighty1000cc Vincents, while among the ton-up singles were the BSA Gold Star and the Velocette Venom and Thruxton. In this book veteran motorcycle writer Steve Wilson reviews the top-of-the-line bikes of all these manufacturers, first giving an introduction to the motorcycling scene in the period, with a particular look at the emergence of the Rockers, the black-leather too-fast-to-live-too-young-to-die bikers who developed a culture all their own, inspired indirectly by Marlon Brando behaving badly on his Triumph Thunderbird in the banned-in-Britain 1953 movie The Wild One. Then the motorcycle makers are dealt with alphabetically, with their big bikes described in detail and their performance, handling, strengths and weaknesses discussed. In addition to a wide selection of archive photographs, specially commissioned colour photography features examples of the outstanding bikes of the period: AMC/Matchless CSR 650 twins and their Norton Atlas-engined 'Hybrid' siblings, BSA A7SS 500, Gold Star singles, AIO Super Rocket and Rocket Gold Star 650 twins, Norton SS 500/600/650 twins, Velocette Venom and Thruxton 500, Royal Enfield Constellation 700 twin, Triumph pre-unit 500 and 650 twins and unit Bonneville 650, and finally the Vincent 1000 vee-twin.

BMW K100 Series Performance Portfolio 1983-1993
The first generation of K-bikes offered unique qualities and decent performance although there was excessive engine vibration, underdamped suspension and a hyperactive final-drive. These problems were addressed in 1991 with the updated K100RS which had a 16-valve cylinder head, upgraded brakes and reworked frame and suspension. The RS had serious horsepower conferred by the hot-rodded engine that went into the K1100LT. 1992 saw another revolution with the K1100RS. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification & technical data, long term reports, new model introductions. Models include: K100, K100RS, K100RT, K100LT, K100RS ABS, K1100RT, K1100LT, K1100RS, and K1100 Limited edition.
