F1: Through the Eyes of Damon Hill: Inside the World of Formula One
F1: Through the Eyes of Damon Hill is the dramatic behind-the-scenes story of the world of Formula One racing. It is a story of global proportions, deep human feelings and sporting magnificence which sweeps from the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne through to the grand finale in Japan, where the nine-month season ends. In his own words, Hill charts the roller-coaster emotions and excitement of the marathon 16-race Grand Prix circus. He describes the strains, and pressures behind the garage doors; the massive effort required to revive a title challenge with his new Jordan team, the fears and thrills. Brilliantly illustrated, here is the world's fastest, most seductive - and expensive - sport as it really is. From the clamour and glamour of the pit lane to the privacy of the motor home, Damon Hill describes what it feels like to compete with Schumacher, Coulthard, Villeneuve and others for the 1998 Formula One World Championship. This is no 'Diary of a Season' fanzine but an intensely personal, thematic account of the most seductive sport of all - its rivalries the crucial importance of technology, and the pencil-thin margin between the chequered flag and failure.

Facel Vega Limited Edition Extra
Facel S.A., a specialist body-building company, produced the Vega as its first car. The luxury of a Rolls-Royce with reliable mechanics. It was developed in 1959 into the HK500 with a bigger 6.3-litre Chrysler engine becoming very popular in Britain. Also in 1959 the Facellia was introduced but unfortunately the Pont-a-Mousson, twin-cam unit was not so good. Early cars holed pistons. The F2 was much improved and the company announced it would replace problem engines. To restore confidence the company went to Volvo for the Facel III. Finally the Facel 6 was introduced with the Austin Healey 3000 engine but only 26 were made, the company going into liquidation at the end of 1964. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, used car reports, buying second hand, new model introductions, long terms tests, history.
Models covered include: FVS, HK500. Excellence, Vega Sport, Facellia, GT CoupT, Facellia 1600, F2S. Facel II, Facel III CoupT.

Factory-Original Aston Martin DB4/5/6: The Originality Guide to All Models Including DB4 GT Zagato, 1958-1971
This family of fast, alluring and supremely elegant cars first appeared in 1958 in the form of the 240bhp 140mph DB4. The response from the motoring press and the motoring public was rapturous, though the price of this handbuilt supercar was beyond the reach of all but a favoured few. The coupe was soon joined by a 266bhp Vantage version, by the 302bhp short-chassis DB4 GT(only 75 produced) and by a convertible. The DB4 GT Zagato, most powerful of all at 314bhp, is also the rarest, only 19 examples being made. The 1964 replacement for the DB4 was the DB5, again offered as coupe or convertible, with standard 282bhp engine or the 314bhp Vantage unit, and the line concluded with the 1965-70 DB6, with cut-off tail, better aerodynamics and in Vantage form having 325bhp. All these cars remain as special and as exclusive as they ever were, and they command correspondingly high prices based on three factors รข?? condition, history and most of all originality. Here James Taylor gives full details of correct original specification and equipment for all these cars, backed up by in-depth colour photography of outstanding examples of all models and variants. Body panels, external trim and badging, paint colours, interior trim, dashboard, instruments and controls, under-bonnet components, engine and transmission, lamps, and other features right down to the tool kit, are all covered.

Factory-Original Jaguar MkI & MkII: Originality guide including 240, 340, S-Type, 420, Daimler V8 and Sovereign
Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons had a terrific hit on his hands when he launched the 'compact' 2.4 Litre sports saloon in 1956. Motorists loved it, and those wanting more thrills were soon offered the 'hot' 120mph 3.4 Litre a year later. Both were replaced in 1960 by the Mark II models, which added a 3.8 Litre, and from there the range was developed and expanded with the long-booted S-Type of 1964, the 4.2 Litre 420 of 1967, and the final 240/340 models of 1968. Alongside there were the Daimler V8 and Sovereign models. The success of this family of cars can be attributed to Lyons's faultless instinct for what buyers wanted and his unerring eye when it came to styling his cars. And of course there was the fabulous six-cylinder XK engine which powered all Jaguars from 1948 through to 1985, with the equally inspired V8 in the Daimler. All these cars have enjoyed an exalted classic status for years, and the matter of originality has become more and more important to owners and prospective owners today.
Here Nigel Thorley, the unrivaled expert on the cars who has been writing about them for more than 30 years, provides all the information that can be expected from books in our acclaimed Factory-Original series. Model by model, with hundreds of specially commissioned colour photographs of outstanding examples of the cars, he gives all the details of correct original factory specifications and equipment in all departments, right down to the tool kit.

Fangio and Mercedez-Benz: Alliance of the Best
Born on June 24, 1911 Juan Manuel Fangio would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year. The enigmatic racing car driver from Argentina dominated the first decade of Formula One racing history. Many still consider him to be one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time - only beaten by Michael Schumacher who won more F1 World Driver's Championships than him. After retiring from racing Fangio sold Mercedes-Benz cars, often driving his former race cars in demonstration laps. Even before he joined the Mercedes Formula One team, in the early 1950s, Fangio had acquired the Argentine Mercedes concession. He was appointed President of Mercedes-Benz Argentina in 1974, and its Honorary President for Life in 1987. Due to its significance for the International motorsport history and in honour of this great racing car driver Mercedes-Benz have commissioned a new biography on his life and racing career illustrated with a wealth of previously unpublished photographs from the Daimler archives.

Ferrari 250 GTO: The History of a Legend
The Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the most successful and highly regarded cars ever produced. Built purely for racing, the 250 GTO dominated the Grand Touring racing category in the period 1962?64 and raced in all of the world's sports car classics, including Le Mans. Ferrari built just 40 production cars, and almost all were raced. Because of its sheer beauty, its immensely successful track record and the relatively small number of cars built, the 250 GTO is among the world?s most valuable cars and examples now change hands for sums in excess of $10 million.

Ferrari 250GT Story: Tour de France
The true forerunner of the series which established Ferrari as a major force in this division of motor racing was the "250 GT Competizione Berlinetta" - now popularly known as the "Tour de France" Berlinetta, in honour of the model's domination of the French event with four outright victories. Updated and rewritten, this text tells the story of the development, building and racing of the "Tour de France" Ferraris. The book also contains individual histories of the cars in the series.

Ferrari 312P & 312PB
The late 1960s and early 1970s formed a significant epoch in the world of international sports car racing. As the motor racing rule-making body moved back and forth between cars that less and less resembled road-going vehicles, prototype sports car racing captured the imagination of manufacturers, teams and fans alike. Porsche vs Ferrari vs Alfa Romeo vs Matra provided some of the best ever racing for sports cars. At first the 5-litre Porsches and Ferraris battled through 1970 and 1971, but the 3-litre prototypes that previously had run in another class rapidly became more and more competitive. By 1973, the Ferrari 312PB, little more than a Grand Prix car with full bodywork, was dominating the scene. This has always been viewed as one of the great eras in sports car racing, when all the Grand Prix drivers were fully active in sports cars as well as F1 machines. With 100 contemporary pictures, this is the story of a great time in motor sport history.

Ferrari 330 P4
When enthusiasts speak of the "Ford-Ferrari Wars" at LeMans in the mid-1960s, this is the Ferrari of which they speak. This beautifully produced slipcase edition commemorates the great endurance race car, of which only four were ever built. Today, only three survive with an approximate market value of 10 million each. This exhaustive history of those fantastic cars examines their technical histories and development, their complete competition records, and the great drivers who raced them-including Jackie Stewart and Chris Amon-as well as primary adversaries like Carroll Shelby, Jim Hall, Mario Andretti, and Dan Gurney.
